God's Creation

(Genesis 1:1) In The Beginning God....

1. "In the beginning ____________  ________________ the Heavens and the Earth."

*The very first statement in the Word of God brings us face to face with the Eternal God.
We are literally introduced to God from the very beginning.

*There is no argument for, or elaboration about His existence, just an announcement,
In the beginning God!

2. (Psalm 90:2) God exists from _______________ to ___________________ .

*Obviously God pre-dates creation. God always has been and always will be, He has no beginning and
no end, God is eternal.

*The term "omnipresent" can only apply to God. It means that God is all present.
Go back in history as far as you wish - there God is.
If we could see forward in time millions, billions, even trillions of years from now, there God is.
There is no time or place where God does not exist.

*Everything in our universe finds its origin in The One who is eternal - Almighty God Himself!

13. (Romans 1:20) By the things that are made we can see God's eternal ___________ and __________

Three Reasons God Created The Universe:

14. (Psalm 148:1-5) All of creation is commanded to ________________ the Lord.

15. (Isaiah 45:18) God didn't create the earth in vain, He created it to be _______________________ .

16. (Proverbs 16:4) God made all things for ______________________________________________

*(Deuteronomy 4:32) Says that God's work of creation is the greatest work that has ever been performed or even heard of.

*Lets study God's great work of creation!

(Genesis 1:2) The Earth Before The Creative Days:

17. "And the earth was _____________ _____________ and ______________ ."

*The earth was a lifeless, formless, empty ruin - all was darkness and chaos.
Then something amazing happened:

18. "And the Spirit of God __________________ upon the face of the waters."

*The Spirit of God moved, or vibrated over His coming work.
This has been compared to a mother hen hovering and brooding over her chicks.
Many believe this "moving" of the Spirit is what energized the earth. The earth began rotating on its axis; energy, heat, and sound waves began to flow.

*This moment in history is what set all of creation in motion.

19. Read (Acts chapter 2)

    a. When the Spirit of God moved in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost, what was
    set in motion?

    _____________________________________________________________________________

    b. (vs.47) What was the result of this moving of the Spirit?

    _____________________________________________________________________________

*If we want to see people saved today we must continually pray for the movement of the Spirit!

(Genesis 1:3) The Creative Power Of God:

20. "And God __________________"

*God called all things into existence.
In each of the creative days the work of creation commences with the words, "And God said."

21. (Psalm 33:6) How were the Heavens made?____________________________________________

22. Read (Hebrews 11:3)

    a. Through faith how do we believe the Heavens were made?____________________________

    b. The things we see were not made of things _____________ ______________ ____________

*When we create things we use materials already in existence.
Think of an artist's painting - they need a canvas, paint, and brushes to create a masterpiece.
When God created His masterpiece there was nothing, no materials to work with.
By the power of God's voice He spoke and all things appeared from nothing.

23. (Psalm 33:8-9) Reminds us we should do what because of God's creative power? ______________

The Simplicity Of The Creative Process:

*God said - what is so hard about that?
The creative process is simple to understand - just have faith that God can do all things!
We surely cannot understand how God called things into existence, but through faith we know He did!

*People make the act of creation hard to understand with new theories and speculations.
As Christians we believe in the creative act of God, everything else is merely speculation!

*Darwin's theory of evolution is a popular speculation today on how our universe came to be.
But even some of the leading scientists of today's time are not fully persuaded that evolution is true!

*J. Vernon McGee quotes Dr. Heribert Nilsson, a Swedish Botanist and Evolutionist:
"My attempts to demonstrate evolution by experiment carried on for more than forty years,
have completely failed." He went on to say, "The idea of evolution rests on pure belief."

24. All theories and speculation can be answered with one verse from the Bible:

    a. (Job 38:4) What did God ask Job?________________________________________________

*Only God was there, let's take His Word for it!

The Days Of Creation:

25. List what God created on each day:

    a. Day 1 (Gen.1:3-5) God created _________________________________________________
